 Anglesey is known as the "Sunshine Isle". The area has a temperate climate with a lower than average rainfall and higher than average hours of sunshine. Warmed by the Gulf Stream and close to the Irish Sea, prolonged frosts and snow are extremely rare in winter while azure blue skies and warm sunshine give an almost Mediterranean feel to the area during the summer months. Bull Bay can often be basking in sunshine whilst less than 30 miles away on the mainland weather conditions can be much less favourable. This means that the golf course is playable and in much better condition than many other courses throughout most of the year.
