Bull Bay Golf Club was delighted to host Wales Golf, around 100 competitors and their families in late May 2024. Thursday 23rd, the practice day, threw some pretty strong winds our way, and some competitors opted to leave their clubs behind when they walked the course. Friday was better, Saturday near perfect and Sunday mixed conditions, but the leading competitors proved equal to the task. Members and staff worked tirelessly in the days before the competition to ensure that course, car parking, the club house and the wonderful new driving range were all ready in time. More than fifty staff and volunteers were in evidence supervising the range, helping with catering and drinks and ball spotting on several holes. Many congratulations to the eventual winner, Sam Marshall, with three rounds in the 60s to achieve a final winning margin of 8 shots.
In the final picture below, the winners are; Ryan Williams (Bargoed GC) – Best Welsh Player, Samuel Johnson (Astbury GC) – Runner-Up, Sam Marshall (St Neots GC) – Champion, Scot Newman (Royal Troon) – 3rd Place, Isabelle Badger (Enville GC) – Best Placed Girl.
